Dentistry
Equine dentistry is a crucial piece of your horse’s healthcare regime. It is recommended that your horse’s teeth be floated once per year to ensure proper tooth wear and to effectively correct any structural problems before they become more serious. Shiland Equine uses a power float that consists of a motor and wand with a rotating disc on the end. The disc files the teeth as it spins, leaving a consistent, uniform surface and is quicker and more precise than a regular hand float. We also provide wolf tooth and cap removal services. We believe it is important to do a full oral exam in addition to maintaining your horse’s teeth, using a proper sedative and a mouth speculum to identify any other potential issues.
